"The Pura X Wide is my next Huawei"

Is that this phone or another one?

😏 notice the contradiction? 😂 Can't even tell their allegedly own own devices apart. I'll leave it at that.

It's a smidge too short for my liking, say compared to the phone in this article. If Samsung could make a rectangular phone like the Pura X View with an S-Pen & flagship cameras that would be my dream phone.

It sounds like what you want is a modern version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 (updated with current display technology, small bezels, a triple camera setup, etc). BELIEVE ME, I WANT THAT PHONE TOO!!

The Note 5 was the last Samsung Note phone to feature a flat (no curved edges) 16.9 aspect ratio display. (The Note 7 also had a 16:9 aspect ratio display, but it had ridiculously curved screen edges. 😡)

Of all the S-Pen equipped Samsung flagship phones that I've owned, the Note 5 is my favorite. It is the last Samsung flagship phone that I was truly glad that I purchased. My satisfaction with Samsung's flagship phones really started to decline after the Galaxy Note 5.

"It's DOA outside of China because it's not even a smartphone outside of China."

So the people I've seen on YouTube using it outside of China are lying?

I fux with this phone. If Samsung doesn't make something like it in the next couple years I might just have to import this one.

Huawei devices work well on T-Mobile, and any carrier that uses their network, like Mint Mobile.

He's definitely trolling, and has been doing so for years. Why else would he continuously make comments about devices he's never used before in a negative manner, as if what he's saying is factual? He's also been aggressively combative towards comments on Pixel related articles.

Honor phone are pretty good as well, especially with them being formally owned by Huawei and still using Huawei's DNA. Honor still goes on record praising Huawei, as well.

The only one babbling is you lol. They work just fine outside of China, unless you live in the land of the "free", then you might have some issues.

This is what I mean by BW trolling. Huawei devices do have standard OEM warranties. BW can't prove that they don't, either.

When he says "No wide carrier compatibility", he's only referring to the U.S., as if the U.S. is the only country in existence that has mobile carriers. Huawei devices work on many carriers outside of China.

"No direct access to popular apps and services" is false. Huawei devices have direct access to both through EasyAbroad (which is a direct download from Huawei's own app store), and DroiTong (which is baked into HarmonyOS devices).

Working "just fine" isn't stretch, and "other more capable OEMs that work even better outside of China" is subjective. He's definitely babbling, despite what he wants to claim or assume. And you know what they say about assuming. 🫏

And that's a very small some because I've seen YouTube videos of people using it in the States.

Huawei devices definitely can be used in the states. BW gets triggered whenever he gets debunked, so every debunking to him is coming from a "vocal individual with aggression." If he doesn't want to be debunked, he should state facts and not fiction. 😂

Multiple people showing proof of something isn't "anecdotal evidence". It's called presenting evidence or showing facts. What I find it fascinating that even with Huawei being "limited", they still innovate, bring new form factors, reintroduce form factors that OEM's stopped using, and make better devices than certain OEM's that have access to more resources, since they aren't unjustly banned.

😏 Of course we already know about several particular areas where Huawei outsells some other OEM's that have access to more resources, with them being on top 10 devices lists globally for smartphones, tablets, and wearables.

How did I contradict myself? When did I ever state that I owned the Pura X View? Pitiful attempt at trolling, as you can't even comprehend what I typed. 😂

C'mon, man. I know you two like to go at it in the comments, but this is a reach. Renaming or nicknaming ≠ contradiction. I do that all the time.

Ex. The Kobe 8 Protro Halo is the proper name, but I call them the Taylor Swifts because they're the whitest of white.

Oh I agree. I'm pretty sure it can be, with some sacrifices of course one being having to deal with that garbage of a carrier, T-Mobile. That's another story for another day.

Definitely not "trolling" or doing anything for years outside of dealing with the occasional aggressively combative comments since first coming here in 21.

That being said, there was a particular Honor phone that I wanted, Honor being a far more suitable choice imo.

"of course one being having to deal with that garbage of a carrier, T-Mobile. That's another story for another day."

Dude, I used to go hard for T-Mo, but that was from 2000-2004. Been on VZW ever since & understand that you get what you pay for.

There are some really great phones out there that we in the States don't have access to. I guess it's a good thing because by the time I'd be snatching all these phones up I wouldn't have any money left to go on vacation to take fly ass pics with said phones. I already know my wife wouldn't like that. 😂

Yeah, I meant this phone, the Pura X View. I've been calling it the Pura X Wide as an alternative, but the actual name is Pura X View.

I know I've been saying I'm going to pull the trigger on importing one for almost 2 years, but this one really might be it since I'm still not fully sold on foldables yet even though the Find N6 & Vivo Fold 5 are the top 2 IMO. But something about this form factor has me hooked. I went to Best Buy looking to see if they had the Duo on display (they didn't) & the design of everything that's currently out all look dated compared to this phone.

I wanted the Note 5, but (at the time) I couldn't get with the fact they ditched SD card expansion on the 297 phones they launched that year (I know I'm exaggerating, but when you look at the S5, S5 Edge, S5 Edge+ & Note 5 that was a lot of phones for Samsung to drop w/in 6 months). I wish I could see one in person now compared to today's flagship Notras.

"The Note 7 also had a 16:9 aspect ratio display, but it had ridiculously curved screen edges. 😡"

Despite the curved display that took me some getting used to, that phone was beautifully built for its time. It just felt like it meshed perfectly in my hand. And the cameras were amazing! I honestly feel like had it not met its demise it would've been Phone of the Year, even over the Pixel that released a couple months later.

"Of all the S-Pen equipped Samsung flagship phones that I've owned, the Note 5 is my favorite."

The S24 Ultra is mine, followed closely by the Note 7. I damn near cried when I had to turn in my 2nd one. My least favorite is the Note 8. That one is the epitome of the tall skinny phones that you described in that other article. If I had to rank the ones I've had from favorite to least favorite, it would be: S24 Ultra, Note 7, Note 10+, S22 Ultra, Note 4, Note 3 (my first Note) & Note 8 (too tall & had 2 that got screen burn-in in less than 6 months). My least favorite Sammy of all time: the S7 Edge. SMFH. I hated that phone! 😡
