After using the Z Fold 8 all I can say is... Yes! This is what I've been waiting for, a wide enough front cover screen to handle regular slab phone duties and a wide format inner screen for media consumption. What I didn't know was using the phone open in portrait mode was going to be the sweet spot!
I've found so many use cases for that orientation and things render just about perfectly! Also using app pair side by side in it's native orientation gives you true app size with both apps open at the same time. On my Fold 7 things were just a bit smushed... The camera's are serviceable when you activate 24mp mode, if I need a better camera experience I'll just use my 26 Ultra but most people don't have both devices so the Fold 8 can hold it's own if you don't need tons of telephoto shots.
One thing I am running into because of the shorter form factor is I'm covering up the camera lens with my index finger when taking pics... I just have to retrain my brain when holding this shorter form factor... I guess I'm "holding it" wrong lol

Completely agree! I knew the inner screen aspect ratio was the right one after owning the TriFold, apps just behave much better. But then feeling the Fold8 at best buy to check out weight, ergonomics, outer screen, etc. That little phone is awesome and what I've been waiting for for a long time!
I saw it at Best Buy the other day. It needs to be a smidge taller & better cameras for me, but I'm glad you like it. January will be here before we know it so here's hoping the S27 Ultra has enough upgrades for me to get it.
