Samsung's latest Galaxy S26 series update is turning into a big mess, and other devices could follow

The current update process remains consistent with previous years, and it is important to note that a direct comparison to Apple is not viable; Apple ensures that all compatible devices receive updates simultaneously. Given the current delays, it is probable that the S27 series will be released by the time this update becomes available.

I have consistently maintained that Samsung has lost its strategic direction following the Note 20 release; over the past six years, recurring challenges such as One UI update delays and screen defects have persisted. It's the main reason the note 20 was my last samsung until the fold 7 and now the fold 8. A t least with the fold i secured one Ui9

i guess it is better to issue iOS update to all iPhones at the same time and then starting fixing it with patches. not the first time your favorite fruit stand had done that... pathetic

Samsung is serious but have to create a seperate department to handle the updates to ensure timely delivery. The One UI 8.5 update came for the A models on schedule and has been reliable so far with some good features added like suggestions but is missing some key pivotal things like better and more modern wallpapers and unique widgets to match the change. For me if your going to stand out you have to change the overall look and feel and make it distinctive to mark each era of transition.

Android 17 is what I am looking for the most we are hoping that it helps get rid of the need for some Google apps just wasting space and applying updates. Banking has never felt safer now on Android gone are the days of password manager leaks problem solved now just make it prettier.

I've got a feeling this could be blamed in part by the Galaxy Z Fold 8. I feel like Samsung probably made that thing faster than they would normally produce a device like that to get it out before Apple, and that took their resources away from doing the S26 updates.

I wouldn't expect anything less. I wouldn't be surprised if they wait until October to try and push buyers to the fold 8 to compete with the iPhone Duo. All Samsung had to do is work on it for a week release after the folds. I don't care either way. I know better at thus point, and we should all know that.

I’m not giving Samsung a pass on this delay, especially for their flagship lineup. We saw the same issue last year with the S25 series, but fortunately, that update ended up being nearly flawless and bug-free. I hope the long wait this year leads to the same level of polish. As the article notes, Samsung’s One UI experience has generally been excellent; I actually prefer this approach of perfecting the software before release rather than relying on constant, frequent .1 patches to fix issues later.
