Just to double check once again, I tried using Chrome on the Galaxy Fold 8 and went to Settings> Appearance> and selected a Dark theme. Well, it is not adaptive, meaning that the background on pages remains white. I tested using our website, PhoneArena. Some Android browsers like Samsung's Browser support a true adaptive dark mode, but not Chrome in my experience.
And I've never actually seen Chrome support that feature. It's possible that I'm missing something, if so let me know, but I don't see any other option to trigger adaptive dark mode on Chrome.
The feature have only been there for - seven years!! Apple is famous for releasing half-baked features...and have done so again with their adaptive darken feature, that breaks some homepages.
1. Type chrome://flags in the address bar and press Enter.
2. Search for "dark mode".
3. Change "Auto dark mode for web contents" to Enabled.
So it is not available through Settings like any normal person would search for, is it? And Handroid is just as successful as Apple in releasing half-baked stuff. I use both. On a Monday I curse Apple on a Tuesday it is Google.

Are you kidding me?
How on earth is it even possible that almost all articles on PhoneArena is factually wrong? Especially when they are about anything Apple.
Of course Chrome for Android have dark mode. Both for the skin and for webpages. And yes, it's adaptive like in the latest iOS beta.
