A discussion is a place, where people can voice their opinion, no matter if it
is positive, neutral or negative. However, when posting, one must stay true to the topic, and not just share some
random thoughts, which are not directly related to the matter.
Things that are NOT allowed:
Off-topic talk - you must stick to the subject of discussion
Offensive, hate speech - if you want to say something, say it politely
Spam/Advertisements - these posts are deleted
Multiple accounts - one person can have only one account
Impersonations and offensive nicknames - these accounts get banned
To help keep our community safe and free from spam, we apply temporary limits to newly created accounts:
New accounts created within the last 24 hours may experience restrictions on how frequently they can
post or comment.
These limits are in place as a precaution and will automatically lift.
Moderation is done by humans. We try to be as objective as possible and moderate with zero bias. If you think a
post should be moderated - please, report it.

I swim in a 50m pool, and it's doing a pretty good job. I also really like the way the data is then presented in Samsung Health. I cannot comment about open water swimming, but with previous Samsung watches (Apple watches too) the tracking was not super accurate.
The title is misleading: You can see your workout stats on your phone. 99% of users won't care if you can't see every detail on your watch, as long as you can see the information on your phone.
You are wrong. You have to make sure the "workouts this week" tile is present on Samsung Health your phone. You can do this by going to Samsung Health on your watch, scrolling all the way down and clicking on "edit on your phone" and finally adding the tile.
On my Galaxy watch 7, I am fully able to go into my activity logs and see detailed information for every recent activity without using my phone. I find it unlikely that this feature was removed, but I suppose it is possible. I'll see when my ultra2 arrives.

Doesn't the data sync back to Samsung Health on the device itself?

It syncs to the phone, but I don't have the option to view recent workouts on the watch itself.
