I don’t necessarily disagree with Joz. While I won’t argue whether the iPhone Duo is definitively better than its competitors, the animations when you open the device make it feel much more polished and fun to use than other foldables, including my own Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. The way Apple redesigned the UI stacks to sit on the side rather than the bottom is also a fantastic touch. The fluidity is incredible—there is absolutely no lag when multitasking or texting, even when flipping the device orientation. It really feels like Apple put more thought into their first-generation foldable than Samsung has managed in eight years. This is from seeing videos and reviewers with the duo comparing to the z fold 8. Next month ill be able to see it for myself with hands on comparison to the fold 8 ultra.

So the Huawei Mate XT also has annimations when you fold an unfold, and it's rather rad. I haven't had the Pura X Max so not sure if it does or not, but I honestly had never realized my Samsung foldable didn't have them. haha
Yeah, the animation is cool, but I wouldn't pick a phone over that. It's weird that that seems to be "THEE IT factor" for this phone. haha Although it does seem cool. I'd actually like a camera comparison between iFold, Pura X Max, Fold 8, and the Xiaomi Fold 18 wide. I make most of my decisions based on cameras. Phone Arena.... you have a job to do. haha
It’s not just about the animations. Based on what I've seen, the performance and software integration on the iPhone Duo are significantly more refined. The way the UI handles orientation changes is seamless—there is zero lag, and apps transition perfectly to full screen regardless of how you hold the device.
When I try to do the same thing on my current foldable with mainstream apps, it’s often a mess; one orientation looks fine, but the other ends up with awkward black bars or incorrect scaling. The fact that Apple managed to solve these display and UI consistency issues on their first try is genuinely impressive, which is why I believe they’ve handled the execution better than the competition.
Then it's the Android OS which once again bugs. Check this out: when I open TikTok, it works fine, but it's not full-screen whichever way you put it, and then the bug—lol. I close the app, the sound still continues, and I have to reboot it. Then, if I try again and, instead of closing just that app, I press 'close all apps', the same thing happens. The only way to fix it is to reboot the device. It's s**t like this that drives me crazy: close all apps and TikTok sound continues. This should not happen with mainstream apps.
