It's interesting to see Apple remain the industry benchmark. They’ve really set the bar this year; the new foldable has made competing devices look obsolete, the iPhone 18 Pro Max has clearly outperformed the S26 Ultra again, and the A20 chip has significantly outpaced Qualcomm’s offerings. I dont blame PhoneArena for articles like this.
Same thing happened last year, and the year before. Apple comes out with their chip and it's the fastest. Then a few days later Qualcomm releases theirs and Apple ain't the fastest no longer. You gotta compare like for like, yeah the A20 was released in 2026 of course it will beat a chip that was released in 2025. When Apple launched the iPhone 16 in Sept 2024, they touted the A18 Pro chip as having the fastest consumer CPU in any smartphone. However, just a month later in October 2024, Qualcomm unveiled the Snapdragon 8 Elite. Qualcomm immediately claimed the crown for the "world's fastest mobile CPU," backing it up with benchmarks.
It's interesting to see you think that Apple is any sort of industry benchmark. They have always been 2nd place behind Qualcomm, and this article is saying they are such a low-hanging fruit that even MediaTek may surpass them.
