"It’s official, even Apple has acknowledged it, the iPhone Duo tends to crack after a few hours of use. What first appeared to be a few isolated incidents has grown into a larger collection of broken foldable iPhones all across the world."

"Apple needs to get on top of the cracking issue straight away. Thankfully, it appears that the company is shipping broken Duos to California to study what went wrong."

"Over eight percent of respondents said that the biggest problem on the iPhone Duo today is how apps look on it. Most apps run in a standard candy bar smartphone layout even on the internal display while the side bar on the external display wastes a lot of screen real estate"

While the reported issues with the iPhone Duo clearly highlight its current shortcomings, I believe the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is the superior device for reasons that go beyond the Duo's flaws and software deficiencies. Samsung has clearly reached a peak in foldable design; the Fold 8 is incredibly well-built, reliable, and refined. Beyond being more stable, it offers a classier, more ergonomic form factor that manages to pack the same battery capacity as the Duo without the excessive weight. Furthermore, most apps are fully optimized for the Fold's display’s aspect ratio. Even for those that aren't, Samsung provides a built-in tool that allows users to force non-optimized apps to resize and fit the screen correctly, whereas the iPhone Duo often defaults to a standard, stretched smartphone layout.

It's funny how fangirls like to drag things on and on, but in reality, that's it—no more reports on the issue, meaning it's all done and over with. But I do understand how fangirls feel; I mean, s**t, I would feel the same way. Fangirls have been talking trash for months, and then the duo releases and sells out over 6 million in less than 30 minutes. If thats not a slap in the face to FANGIRLS idk what is.

PS; It’s important to remember that this situation pales in comparison to the original Samsung Galaxy Fold, which was a far more significant disaster—just saying.

Aside from the crackgate, what's unacceptable is that even Apple's first-party apps are not compatible with the new aspect ratio. Also, this is the best example why Android OS is leaps ahead of iOS. Android can natively optimize outdated apps based on the device's screen resolution so there won't huge black bars like what you see on the iPhone's first party apps. iOS on the other hand will force app developers to make them compatible.

I've been saying this for ages, but many people here were quick to criticize the Galaxy Z Fold's app scaling. Now, look at how poorly apps run on the iPhone Duo, especially on the front display, where the sidebar wastes so much space and leaves unsightly black bars. It’s frustratingly hypocritical—if this were a Samsung or Google device, the backlash would be deafening, but because it’s Apple, it gets a pass. Facts are all there; the Duo fails where the Fold 8 excels.
