I could write an article on why the button shouldn't be on the front...

Looking at the picture of the person holding the phone in the article, their thumb wouldn't reach the home key where they are mostly located now. You need to support the back while holding the phone because of gravity (unless youre hanging upside-down while using your phone). so it's natural to hold you fingers behind the phone while looking down at it... where the button scanner is.

Second, i find it uncomfortable to use the phone when it's sitting on the desk with no support anyway... try scrolling while it's on a wooden desk... phone slides... so you'll have to pick it up or support it with the other hand at some point if you're using it.

Third, to fix the case issue, you just need a more gradually sloping case to the button as opposed to the poorly designed ones we have now that are super tight around the camera holes and drop off like a cliff."

I'll still accept the fingerprint scanner on the back with open arms.

He do say everyone has preferences but he also strongly suggest is view is the best.

I disagree. I unlock my Note 5 while it's laying on my desk at work all the time.

Mobile phones should be held with hands not lying on table , back is great for phablets 5.5-5.7" and side for mid-sized phones 5-5.2" .

I think a retina scanner would be the best. Just looking at the phone would be the fastest and easiest way to get on. Not to mention its impossible to steal someone's eye for a retina scanner. It's been proven that finger prints can be lifted and used by others. With that said Qualcomm's 3D ultrasonic scanner goes further in scanning your finger prints. You cannot lift and use someone's finger print with Qualcomm's ultrasonic scanner.

The concept of unlocking your phone with fingerprint is wrong. You dont have to protect the phone with fingerprint security, you only have to protect certain applications like payment apps and few personal apps. Therefore the most convenient place for the reader is the back as you will be holding your phone while paying.

knock code is better when phone is on surface and making a quick access.

with lifeproof case and most otterbox cases you cant use the fingerprint sensor as well never stopped them.
i like it on the side makes more sense
