This seems to be written from the point of view of someone who has never used one. In addition to its android capabilities, I use mine as a second monitor with windows using duet. Android capabilities such as circle to search become available to the windows side.

Correction, YOU DON'T NEED ULTRA TABLET, tbh I can't imagine downgrading, I actually hoped to get somethin over 15inch now, BIGGER IS BETTER, but not for everyone, for instance, I preffer a smaller smartphone (calls only, no games no social media), so I could fit it in my pocket along with some other stuff, something like galaxy flip or motorola zazr, but for my eyes, a huge tablet is essential.

I think the Ultra has its place. It's the only laptop sized computer with IP rating and passive cooling that is portable. I think the author is either bored or acting as if everyone has the same feelings as his own.

I need a small tablet for travel that's high end and Lenovo is the only manufacturer to offer an acceptable 8". I'm standing here with money in hand to buy a non existent Samsung 8" tablet that isn't an anemic Tab A.... Lenovo ran out of their Legion (feel stupid looking at a 'gaming' tablet) Gen 3 twice when introduced and The Apple iPad mini checks all the boxes EXCEPT it's an Apple which has to place in my home.

As a professional musician who uses my S8 Ultra every day on stage, in lessons, practicing, in live performance and for productivity, this article is shortsighted. Using 10 inch and 12.4 inch tablets were a pain in my ass. Watching my colleagues paper music fly around stage at an outdoor pops concert is amusing, while I just click my foot pedal. I'm not the only one that uses a large tablet either. Ignorant point of view if you ask me.

Hey. If you don't need a huge tablet, that's your preference. Some of us have a use for it. I do have a use for it.

I like the huge screen for my office work. Microsoft 365 can be installed in the tablet and using excel (particularly) is very advantageous using the Tab S Ultra! I love how clear and clean my online meeting happen using this device.

This ultra tablets serves me well. Meeting my office and entertainment needs all in one. I used to have the Ipad pro 12" and I sold it to buy the Tab S8 Ultra which I am still using right now. I love this device and it has served me suprbly well!

I have a 2 in 1 lenovo Idea pad and mostly use it for demanding VA and copywriting work but I mostlt use my tablet for nearly all my office needs using MS, Google, Canva, AI tools, and other CRMs.

I agree with you, though, with the processor trade-off using MediaTek instead of Snapdragon and the price point of this device. I would rather have samsung use the latest snapdragon for their flagship devices and hope that they balance the prices for a stronger patronage of their products. Never the less, its still a very good product ans still worth having.

I absolutely need this screen size, for reading and viewing sheet music (and no, I dont want an iPad). I use a tablet cushion or book holder to prop it up. Always have, even with small tablets, as I have arthritis issues as well. Leave these devices alone for those of us who have learned to cope with the size and weight, and need the screen real estate. Wait until you're in your 70's!
