Discussion - Leaked Galaxy S27, Plus, Pro, and Ultra image will make you appreciate Samsung's direction

The only thing that could make me love the Galaxy S27 Ultra is if it has a 16:9 or 16:10 screen aspect ratio. I'M TIRED OF TALL SKINNY PHONES! Hey Samsung, how about an non-folding S27 "Wide Edition", like you did with the Galaxy Fold 8? As it stands, I'll check out the S27 Ultra, but I'll probably skip it and hold onto my S24 Ultra until the Galaxy Fold 9 comes out. Hopefully, the Galaxy Fold 9 will have cameras worthy of a $2,000+ phone.

The new renders of the Samsung S27 Ultra are, first of all, not authentic. Besides that, the camera island looks unnecessarily large and "poor" (a large portion of the island's surface is unused). The previous renders, where the camera island was positioned horizontally (with the lenses and sensors in a line), looked better even if that wasn't an original solution either. For me, the solution lies in emphasizing the "massiveness" of the camera lenses (the best example is the Asus Zenfone 10), with the island's surface either matching the color of the camera frame (like on the Google Pixel 10 Pro) or made of some transparent material (like the iPhone 16 Pro Max). Whatever, do something — the current renders really show an inauthentic, uninnovative, and unattractive design.

Which Samsung phones that are available for purchase are tall & skinny?

You're right; it seems the direction they are taking is to simply copy Apple's design in hopes that they will sell their premium devices just as well.
