Calling this device a failure is ignorant. While a small number of units experienced issues, the situation has been blown out of proportion. I own an iPhone Duo, and I honestly didn't expect to like it this much; I haven’t even touched my Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra or iPhone 18 Pro Max since getting it. The animations are smooth, and the nano-texture screen looks and feels like it’s on a different level. For example, on the Z Fold 8 Ultra, you can clearly see the edges of the pre-installed screen protector where it doesn't sit flush with the bezel, but on the Duo, it’s completely seamless and looks much more premium. Apple got so many things right with the iPhone Duo compared to the Z Fold 8. While I definitely wish it had Face ID and a few other features from my iPhone 18 Pro Max, Apple has truly outdone itself for a first-generation device. When I compare it to the Z Fold 8, the Samsung feels cheap by comparison; the iPhone Duo’s build quality and seamless design are simply on another level.

"Apple Inc. is set to sell about 6 million units of the iPhone Duo this year, Counterpoint Research said, offering the first estimate for how the company’s inaugural foldable device will fare.

The figure, more typical of the niche foldable segment than Apple’s usual smartphone sales, is contingent on how well the company ramps up production of the new hardware, Counterpoint senior analyst Ivan Lam said. Priced at $1,999 and set for an October release, the iPhone Duo sits atop the Apple lineup and carries industry-wide hopes for stoking greater interest and sales of foldables."

Delusional much? When you orders are pushed into next year and the extremely limited number of devices sold, 6MM units is a pipe dream. With this said, however, apple sheep will eat any rotten fruit coming from the fruit stand and call it the greatest and the tastiest one. right at you TuGa121 🤣

"My personal opinion is that the iPhone Duo is not a flop, and the Crackgate story is a bit blown out of proportion. Our unit at PhoneArena has stayed crack-free after all of our lab tests, and probably the majority of these 6 million iPhone Duo owners are just fine."

I think it’s being blown completely out of proportion, especially by the vocal anti-Apple crowd that desperately wants the device to fail. If you had heard the comments I’ve seen from these detractors, you’d realize the hate is performative; they keep insisting that every single unit will fail, but deep down, they know Apple hit a home run with this design. The level of bias against this release has truly reached a new level. FANGIRLS WILL ALWAYS BE FANGIRLS

Your analysis is completely detached from reality. Since major outlets like CNET and Yahoo Finance, and even Apple themselves, clearly disagree with your assessment, are you suggesting that you alone possess the correct sales figures? You are the only one being delusional here, as your track record for accuracy on this topic has been non-existent.

Why are people making such a big deal of this no matter which side of the fence they ultimately fall on. Apple bigots are going to claim it is the greatest ever and will sell billions (even if Apple developed a new brick they would do so) and Android bigots will claim it is a piece of trash and will be a big sales flop (and would do so if it were the greatest ever and will sell billions). If it turns out to be a great product then i am happy for Apple fans. If it turns out to be a flop I will feel sorry for Apple fans. Either way the world will keep spinning and the sun rise and set. All of this chest beating by Apple fans and verbal poop slinging by Android fans is just a bit vain and childish in my humble opinion and I don't mean this as an insult to anyone. I'm just being honest on how I see it.
