I tested Apple's iPhone 18 Pro battery claim against the iPhone 17 Pro Max

The other thing too would be the 18 is a NEW phone. Was the test with the 17 done on a NEW phone, or one that has been used for a year? 😉

We always test phones at 100% battery health

Playing a video locally and streaming it are two different things in battery. Of course you will not hit 40 hours, but you will get better numbers

My 17 Pro has 100% battery health, but also has a cycle count of 82 ergo...it's not a new phone, as what was asked by p51d007. Care to try to counter again or do you want to just admit this test was done with phones that are a year apart in age?

Interesting. Just like all of the pointless ass "battery tests" being done by reviewers on YouTube, not a single FaceTime call was performed. Until these battery tests are done with real world performance, they will always be inaccurate.

I know these are synthetic tests and not representative of everyday usage, but a one-hour difference from the iPhone 17 Pro Max—which was the best in its class when released—is impressive. It really proves how much more efficient the M16 panel and the new CPU are when paired together. Remember, the 17 Pro Max has a 4,800–5,000 mAh battery compared to the 17 Pro's 4,000 mAh, so this is truly impressive.

Question: how much better is the 18 Pro vs 17 Pro in the same test, assuming you ran these tests last year, or recently?
