No access to the Google play store, not EASILY available globally, won't work on most phone networks, most people will never see it.

Had three Huawei phones back in the day but not anymore. If the ban were lifted, and they had access EASILY to Google I'd probably get another Huawei phone.

Pretty much just an overpriced paperweight outside of China.

An innovative approach to Foldables that is easily available outside of China through various import sites like Aliexpress, Average Dad Tech Store, Giztop, Wonda Mobile, Trinity Electronic, etc. Easy access to Android and Google apps through EasyAbroad and DroiTong, and has access to plenty of phone networks, as the U.S. market isn't the only one with phone networks. However, Chinese ROM smartphones have access to T-Mobiles network. Definitely not a paperweight outside of China.

I bought the Mate XT in Dubai earlier this year and love it. The EMUI version works great with only occasional issues. I was worried I was going to really want the next version as well, but mercifully for my bank account, I'll pass. I think they nailed it with the first version, the fold was logical. But the extra screen makes it less unique; I fiddled with the Samsung tr-fold in one of their experience stores and didn't care for it, just too, too much...

Nothing screams 'mainstream global success' quite like having to play digital gymnastics with five different import resellers, third-party sideload apps, and a prayer just to get standard notifications on a $3,000 phone. That's just basic functionality being crippled by the lack of Google services or Play Store access. PSA, not everyone has or wants access to T-Mobile especially when you consider all the anti consumer practices T-Mobile is implementing right now.
