Personally I love Samsung Messages because I don't want my banking information, personal information and financial OTPs passing Google servers its a big concern to me that if a top level person within the company went rogue it would affect personal and sensitive information.

The likelihood of the same happening with Samsung is less because the company feels like a part of my family while Google a watchdog company.

I use Textra, or rather, I USED to use Textra. It is far superior to google messages, however I've been forced to use googles piece of junk because I went from a Galaxy Note 8 to the Ultra 26, which has rcs support, meaning I lose every multi person text.

Since google won't release the rcs api, we are forced to use googles mess of an app.

It's a bad choice. Samsung Messages is superior, works perfectly (visually too) with the rest of the Sansung ecosystem and with other messaging apps, including Google Messages itself, so why kill it? Instead just add RCS to the app and done.

To me It's probably a business deal of some sort.

People dislike Google messages because it's bland, boring, not as customizeable, and your data is in the Googles servers for them to read. Zero people believe Google has the best intentions and won't read your messages. F Google.

I have over 500,000 Samsung messages with 30GB spanning 10 years I've carried over. I don't want to lose this data. Correct me if I am wrong but Samsung messages are local on my phone and not on the cloud.

It makes me mad that Google forces Samsung into doing this.

I'm even considering going to an old Note 10 Plus that's still on Android 11. Not to mention I have been out of storage ever since I went from the Note 20 to the S22 Ultra.

I didn't know that Samsung was even going to do this. I use Samsung messages all the time. I use theme a lot and love that the messages app and Samsung keyboard all change in accordance to the theme. I also love the fact that you can pin 📌 some contacts to the top. I also have groups such as friends, businesses important etc. Also have messages from friends that are no longer with me, and are important for me to keep. Yes I've backed them up. I wish Samsung would up their game and say they're keeping their app, it's a most important part of the phone and all of us who say it's the best app for them can't be wrong, it shows that this is a bad decision for Samsung to make. If it's still available on play, then I'll download it again anyway. Yes having 2 apps doing similar things is annoying but we the customer should be able to choose which one we want to use and all apps should be able to be removed not just hidden.

I hate the new Google messenger for texting. When people get a picture being text from me they have to open it up in order to see the picture. That was not necessary with the old way of texting a picture. Im so disappointed. I'm thinking about jumping ship and getting either a Pixel or IPhone. I didn't want to have to have to do that but I am a creature of habit.
