Discussion - Galaxy S27 Ultra won't be getting a "camera phone" label

I understand why tech nerds and enthusiasts miss Samsung's innovation days. But the longer I use them, the more I appreciate the iterative approach. I don't really care about having the latest and greatest all the time. Even if it would be nice to see, there are some areas in life where reliability and user-friendliness matter most.

Phones is one of those areas. My S25 Ultra is the best phone I've ever had. The fact is my life is greatly enhanced by its quality, and I don't care how many years they use a 5000 mAh battery, as long as I keep getting a day and a half of moderate use out of it between charge sessions, with mid-range power savers on. And 200 MPs is a lot of camera. My phone produces excellent shots. It's tough and attractive, so who cares if it looks the same as it has for years? It's a smartphone. I'm sure they'll eventually redesign its hardware. And they should. But I'm in Samsung's camp, here. If they start overloading their increasingly-expensive Ultra flagships with the newest and most expensive tech all the time, they're going to chase a big part of their buying audience for these inflated phones away: middle-aged and older people with money, who don't think twice about throwing down $1300 for a phone they already know they're going to love. While the tech geeks and enthusiasts pining for the best of the best mostly keep complaining, and still have to finance.

I do buy the Ultra for the camera. Guess I will have to shop around next time. I dont want to, but may go with iPhone since they are continuing to improve camera tech.

I know you're a "Member since 11 min ago" so you're most likely just a bot account, but according to you the abysmal keyboard, limited OS & stale UI is all worth it just because of the camera?

People will buy the s27 ultra because it's literally the only high end android phone here in America that does most things. I guarantee you if the oppo was allowed in T-Mobile, Samsung would be sweating buckets.

Stupid decision by samsung. If the flagship has no flag, it should be priced as such. S26 has a game changer screen, s27 ultra will tank if it has nothing to justify the price point except ram.

One of the worst phone cameras available. Vivo, Xiaomi, Oppo. Nothing else is worth it for cameras
