I'm not surprised that people in the U.S. are voting to have Huawei return, even without the use of Googles Services. Huawei makes some incredible devices, and I prefer the Google-Free experience that they provide. And anyone thinking "but China spying" that is steadily using a smartphone from Apple and Google, and American made apps, I have news for you: They are all spying on you, as is the U.S. government. In any event, the U.S. smartphone market can definitely use the added choice, as it is bland ASF.

The poll was the "people of PhoneArena", not the US. And there wasn't a "none" option. We've seen brands with better reputations in the US fail - LG, HTC, Sony, Motorola for a while.

It's a miracle that the Pixel sells what it does in the US because the US population wants nothing to do with anything but Apple and Samsung.

If my memory serves me correct, Huawei and AT&T had an imminent agreement to sell HUAWEI phones in store. Then the Trump administration shut it down overnight using a bogus excuse that HUAWEI posed a threat to American national security, with zero proof offered to Americans. Now we essentially have a phone monopoly in America. So much for feee market competition.

We essentially had a phone monopoly in America pre-Huawei ban....? Huawei was less than 1% of sales in the US before the ban. Actually, since pre-ban, the market has become less of a monopoly with Google, Motorola, and Xiaomi all gaining market share, and Samsung losing some.

Huawei never surpassed it's peak in 2013 - 6 years before the ban.

LG was selling, at times, 10x more phones yearly than Huawei in the US pre-ban. Trump banning Huawei phones in the US was almost entirely for show. Source: https://www.bankmycell.com/blog/us-smartphone-market-share#section-2

Clearly it was the "people of Phonearena", as you have to be a member to even vote. That much is obvious, and obviously, it's what I was referring to. You mentioned those brands that failed, as if that would have been Huawei's fate, but you forget that Huawei did become the #1 smartphone OEM in the world prior to the BS political propaganda ban taking effect.

And Pixels are counted in the bland U.S. market, because they are bland ASF. However, consumers do vote with their wallets, and Pixels aren't what they want when compared to Apple and Samsung products.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, BlackBerry was a great alternate choice that offered security and less bugs vs Pixels very limited implementation of Android, and isn't as functional as other Android brands devices, nor as popular and sought after as them and iOS devices. Consumers have proven via their wallets and sales that even devices without Google services like Huawei devices are more preferred over what Pixels offer, as noted by their respective sales.

I would absolutely love for Oppo phones to be readily available in the US. Their hardware is outstanding and ColorOS is amazing. But in this current climate, that's not going to happen. As far as Pixel Phones are concerned... 1. I don't know why they're being brought up in a post about phones from Chinese firms. Google is living rent free in some of y'all's heads. 🙄😒. 2. Pixel phones have seen an astounding 16 percent growth in a time when most Chinese manufacturers sales are dropping because of the memory chip prices and shortages. That tells me that people actually WANT Pixel phones. Their camera software puts your favorite phone makers cameras to shame and when it comes to AI implementation, Pixels leave the competition choking on its dust. People who ACTUALLY USE Pixels day in and day out know that most of the negative noise about their preferred devices comes directly from people who don't even use Pixels on the daily. Pixel's put the SMART in smartphones as they are the SMARTEST phone in any room. 3. Blackberry's are DEAD for a reason... 😬 And while some of you like to complain about Google and Pixel phones, you're STILL USING Google Services. 🥴😭 They may not have iPhone and Samsung sales, but neither does Huawei or any other Chinese manufacturer. I'll just leave this right here...

I'm going to address a few things:

1. Pixel phones were first brought up by an actual Pixel user, in an article about Chinese smartphone manufacturers. However, BlackBerry phones were also brought up, in an article about Chinese smartphone manufacturers. So why are Pixels the only ones being pointed out and being brought up, but not BlackBerry devices? Seems the Pixels users here are hypocrites. 🙄😒.

2. Chinese OEM's smartphones sales have been dropping. That's true. But not Huawei's. They're sales have been growing. IDC data notes Huawei's shipments are up roughly 20% year-over-year for the first half of the year. That tells me that people actually WANT Huawei phones. Huawei also has incredible camera systems on their smartphones (hardware and software), which is why they're usually in the conversation when talking about the best cameras on a smartphone. People who ACTUALLY USE Huawei devices day in and day out know that most of the negative noise about them comes directly from people who don't even use Huawei devices at all, much less on the daily. And people who actually use HarmonyOS powered Huawei smartphones know just how SMART their smartphones are, AI included. When it comes to AI, Huawei is one of the companies that's at the forefront of it in the largest market for smartphones in the world, both hardware and software wise. Pixels are smart, but they're also used to harvest your data by a company that makes a living off of harvesting your data, and no one can deny the amount of bugs that Pixels have. There is a reason why Google-Free services exist, and MANY people make use of them. Not everyone wants or needs Google Services. And while some of you like to complain about "China this, and Chinese products that", your smartphones are assembled in China, and likely have Chinese parts. Some of you defending Pixels over Chinese OEM's use Chinese smartphones, and feel that they are better than Pixels. You know who you are. 😏

3. BlackBerry phones are dead, but the company isn't dead, and some of your favorite companies have come to BlackBerry to help make their own security on their offerings better.

Globally, Huawei and other Chinese OEM's don't have Samsung and Apple sales. But they have far more sales than Google does with its Pixels, and they Huawei has the highest sales in the largest market for smartphones in the world.

Oh, and I'll just leave this right here:

I agree with you. I do not need snooping from Google on my phone. There are other software and service out there that can get you what you need without Google eyes on your every move. Huawei make really good phone, and it is shame that most Americans do not get to experience them because of ban.

I'm going to address a few things...

1. You bring up Pixel phones CONSISTENTLY for no other reason other than to crap on a product you do not use. And you know that I KNOW that you don't use them. So your opinion on them is about as valid as a lifelong vegetarians opinion of a steak. Seems like Huawei users are hypocrites. 🙄😒

2. Almost EVERY smartphone harvests your data. Your precious Chinese manufacturer smartphones harvest your data, especially the ones being propped up by the Chinese government 😉. They just tell you that they don't. Also, most of your precious Chinese smartphones use GOOGLE services. Vivo and Honor for instance. So for somebody who doesn't like Google as much as you, you sure do enjoy their products. What's your email again, btw ... 😏

3. BlackBerry is still dead bruh. Time to let them go. It's starting to look like the end of Shaun of the Dead around here. 😂

4. I've already said that Pixel's don't have those type of sales. But they don't have to to be popular or useful. We all don't use smartphone sales like measuring contests like you do. 😬

Oh and I'll just leave this right here...

Hi I'm Mr Huawei USA. Google is available for any Chinese phone. Obvious I'm am a Huawei device user here in the USA. My carrier is mint mobile little T-Mobile. T-Mobile band will work because T-Mobile Europe and worldwide allows Huawei devices. The Huawei and xiaomi cameras are years ahead of Google apple and Samsung. But if you have to add Google to your Chinese device, it might not be available on the Huawei application gallery but it does give apk.pure available. Create an ac v ount on apk.pure and it will give you accessibility to all Google applications.

Guess we're doing this. Oh well....

1. I bring up Pixel phones CONSISTENTLY on articles about Pixels. Isn't that what I'm supposed to do? I talk about them being a buggy mess because THEY ARE a buggy mess, and your anecdotal evidence does not, will not, and cannot change that FACT. I've also OWNED Pixels in the past: Pixel 4XL, Pixel 6 Pro, and Pixel 8 Pro, and you KNOW that I have, and that I've used them. I've even ordered Pixel smartphones for YOU, and paid them off for you. So my opinion on them is as valid as flatulence smelling like 💩 or rotten eggs. Seems like Pixel users are hypocrites and very touchy, emotional creatures. 😏😜

2. NO SMARTPHONE harvests your data like a Google one does, or like one that relies heavily on Googles apps and services. Your precious Pixel smartphones harvest your data more than most, and yes, they do send that data to the U.S. government 😉. They just tell you that they don't. And you know that any smartphone from that using GMS can shut most of them down, right? You don't have to use Googles AI, messaging app, Gmail, search, web browser, YouTube, or a lot of their other stuff. Hell, you don't even have to use Google Services. That's why MicroG exists lol. That's what I use on my Chinese OEM products from Vivo and and Honor, and that's why I ALWAYS buy Chinese ROM smartphones, because you can disable Google Play Services on them. 😉😏Also, don't YOU use those "precious Chinese manufacturers smartphones"? You know, smartphones that you've gotten from ME? I've even paid a few of those off for you, too. 😉 Oppo, OnePlus, and Xiaomi are all Chinese OEM's. What's the name of that Oppo phone that you've recently gotten thanks to me, btw ... 😏 For someone that seems to be opposed to those "precious Chinese smartphones", you sure do seem to favor a few of them... 😏

3. Pixels have more bugs than most smartphones, Bruh. Time to accept that fact, even though it is starting to look like the end of Joe's Apartment around here. 😂

4. Smartphone sales are the metric that is used to determine true consumer interest. I use them to point out the facts. Figures that a Pixel fan would be allergic to the fact of smartphone sales. 😁

You posted an article that didn't take ANY Chinese smartphone OEM into account. How valid can an article be that doesn't AT LEAST have HONOR, who has been doing amazing things with AI, on that list? And it has Apple, who has been LAGGING in AI, on that list as one of the best. 🤦🏿‍♂️

That right there shows me how invalid that list is. Go figure 🤷🏿‍♂️😎.
