I keep saying foldables are more issues that the non-problems they solve. This is a forced niche.

but forget the crease, to me the biggest problem with duo is no Face ID!!! There’s no device that I would use without FaceID.

And what about the warranty?! Is the screen ( both screens/ displays) are not parts from the phone?! I dont understand really! Why we need to create a panic, given that the gadgets are purchased from official retailers for this very reason—specifically, to ensure a valid warranty from the manufacturer. That’s precisely why they delayed this phone for so long—to ensure it would work like an Apple device. But wait a minute... the Apple warranty is only 1 year?! So, now I understand ;-). So , Im very sorry about that, but Apple Rules, yeahh!

Am I foolish for having bought a foldable phone that comes with a 2-year warranty and free insurance for both displays for the first year? No matter what happens, the display gets replaced at the manufacturer's expense. Whether it’s a defect, breakage, issues with the folding mechanism, or scratches—you’re covered. And the 2-year period covers standard defects. In any case, every tech enthusiast upgrades to something new long before that time is up.

But 1 year warranty for a 1st gen. foldable from Apple is very very scary ;-)

Hello,

It is not a manufacturer defect if the screen becomes damaged after repeated use. The warranty covers damages when the device is on the way to you before you unwrap the device and do the setup, internal software issues that occur after the initial setup that weren't caused by a malicious application you installed. It also covers issues like faulty on board chips etc. The rest are what you call wear and tear like accidentally cleaning your speaker or charging port and damaging something that interferes with how the device works. The sticker on the screws is usually where the warranty ends if you repair it elsewhere.

The Apple Care plus is a great deal considering how much it can save you in the long run. I would like to know if the up front payment is for 3 years?

Experimental products always have a downside because not many people have been trained yet to fix these devices so for now the Geek Squad are your best bet.

This shocked me as well. Imagine having the most expensive phone in the line up and having to type a Password everytime or not even being apple to catch the tube or bus as fast as someone with an air or pro max?

Apple should protect the kids in America whose parents have our password.

LOL, and how many "warranty" inner screen problems will be REJECTED and the company says it was "user" damage? I've read several people complaining where they treated their folding phone with kid gloves, the inner screen stopped working or had lines and what not, and the warranty claim was rejected.

"This is something we've never seen mentioned in previous reviews"

Maybe because all the previous videos show the Duo behind glass, or at most people were solely focused on the open/close animation? The phone isn't even available yet so how many reviews could there possibly be. But I'm not surprised that the first consumer to actually hold it in their hands found a totally undiscovered (read: unacceptable) flaw.

It's called a liquid metal hinge, which is how Apple stated they were able to minimize the crease.
