Another caveat seems to be that even if you are porting a number from another carrier, you don’t get the discount if you already have some other Verizon service, e. g. FiOS. But then you can get a discount on the FiOS service after a couple months of Verizon phone service which may ultimately work out to the same total.

I had no idea! Would you mind letting me know how you learned of this?

Why do you guys keep saying "introduction of a loyalty program called Verizon Dollars" and "an industry first"?

It's been available for over 6 years. I know this because I have been earning Verizon Dollars since 2020, and even bought a new phone with it in 2023. Now I just use it to pay my bill every month. It's not new.

Yup, only new customers get the biggest discounts. Screw the loyal customers who have been here for decades.
