I have clean pockets I'm broke!

I have the Fold7 with the lower IP rating. It goes in pockets, pockets with pocket dirt, coins and keys if I'm not careful. Like any phone.

I dropped it a few times like any phone, so I now have it in a front open case. I have a screen protector. The case makes it bigger and especially wider ... a reason seldom mentioned I would not favour a wide format of any phone that already has reach constraints.

Never mind pocket fluff, I've dropped it at the beach. Grit gets in the mechanism, in crunches for a few days, it goes away.

In the pocket the strong strong folding mechanism keeps out pretty much anything. A loose card might slide between the screens, it's happened, but no noticeable damage.

Durability was my biggest concern considering the price and my upgrade cycle is pretty much every 4-5 years. Turned out to be completely unfounded. Although it's only gen 1 - if we ignore Apple's other folding phones 😉 - I don't see why it should have a problem where Samsung does not - especially with the greater IP rating.

Why not just put a screen protector on both screens and get a case. Ive done that with every phone and foldable ive owned. The whole barebone concept blows my mind. You just soend $2000 on a phone and you're risking as scratching and breaking it; idiocracy.

So is apple ready to address their fake ip68 rating? Lol

I guess I'm "old school". Never carried my phone on my pocket. I've always used a belt clip case. For the last 10 or so the turtleback case. Yeah, they look "bulky" but slim, sexy, colorful & stylish I'm not. 😉

Actually, you’re being the smartest of all. Every smartphone emits a small form of radiation when held against the body like in a pocket - they recommend to hold the device about 5/8” or a centimeter away from body at all times as that radiation drops by 90% at that distance.

I need to be doing the same thing.
