Discussion - The Galaxy update headache is more widespread than you might think

I've said it for years. You can beta test it all you want, but until you put it in the wild, you never know how it will behave.

You are absolutely correct. Since my journey in the computer industry began in 1973 this has slways been know inside the engineering teams. No matter how hard we tried to test and validate hardware and/or software, the near infinite real world operational permiatations are nearly always impossible to test for. How you respond to correcting those inenviable issues is what separates the strong from the weak, so to speak. Unfortunately we live in a world where most require perfection all the time nof realizing the impossibility of that expectation.

I finally took control of my phone by blocking updates on my S26 Ultra. Updates cut my S24 Ultra battery life from 8 hours SOT to just over 4 hours. Samsung should be sued for intentionally programming lower battery life into updates 1 year after the phone is released. It happens like clockwork.

I also blocked updates on my watch and still have full screen tiles. 😁

Apple is guilty of it too. I swear every August the phones get hot, drain 50% faster than normal through the day. Its every company not just samsung. Apple guys usually won't admit their s**t sucks every August.

Even full versions are still like betas sometimes because of the numerous amounts of hardware combinations were trying to apply it to. Nearly impossible to know every variable out there. Usually until something is busted you won't even hear if it's working right sometimes.
