If, and i stress "if", these renders of S27 Ultra turn out to be accurate i don't think it will significantly harm the sales. I think the backlash is driven more by most Android users disdain for the Iphone Pro Max and any design that is similar is going to draw criticism. Not because it necessary is a truly ugly design, but more because it resembles a phone they dislike. In reality most modern smartphones share many design que characteristics. There may be practical component locations that require this type of design. We simply don't know why this design was may be choosen but I think assuming Samsung would copy the look of an Iphone with the idea of "maybe we will sell more phones of we look like the competition" is rather nieve. Of course this is mearly my opinion. I am much more focused on features, functions and performance than on looks. I will be replacing my S25 Ultra in 2027 so I am looking forward to what S27 Ultra really turns out to offer.
True, in the end the design doesn't matter that much because 90% of people put a cover on it anyway; what really matters is the internal components. If Samsung put a 7000 mAh battery in it, then it would attract buyers from other brands.

There are still clear cases that allow you to see the design of the phone. The real answer is people rarely stare at the back of their phone so the design doesn't matter that much. I never set my phone face down or take mirror selfies so I really don't know how often I see the back of my devices.
