This is not normal. Every NiMH battery charger that RadioShack ever sold when they were in business stopped charging batteries when they were full. There was never a widespread fire hazard. This is a defect in this T-Mobile flashlight.

I have couple these flashlights, it is the best freebies from T-Mobile.

But I had to fix each of them, because missing two screws inside to prevent from movement. I added one screw each to my flashlight.

All working perfectly.

Still the best T-Mobile Tuesday freebies

Looks like one of those cheap flashlights you get at a 99 cent store or some discount outlet. Doesn't seem practical to have an outlet plug because the flashlight would take up space and block other outlets.

I have one and followed the instructions. It does say to charge every three months IIRC. I have only charged it once so far. It is handy to have if I wake up in the middle of the night.

It's so nice when a media outlet I've never heard of before decides to call users stupid and moronic just because they can.

Who in the hell is going to set a timer and unplug a rechargeable flashlight. I guarantee that most everyone who got one of these plugged it in and forgot about it. Blaming the consumer for this is shameless and irresponsible. The lack of common sense here is astounding.

I have the same flashlight and after being plugged in for only about two or three hours my smoke alarm went off, didn't see any smoke but very likely it was from the flashlight, the smoke alarm is right above the area where the power outlet is.
