If their working on it then it's a great step but my opinion is the device was probably meant for someone else and for the individual to use it they didn't include Face ID at the start.

Face ID was implemented to prevent unauthorised use of another person's device and it seems Apple bypassed this to allow someone else to present the showcase to the public. Notwithstanding it's a big deal because Apple shouldn't be allowing fraudulent actors to use other people's prioretary devices for whatever reason.

About Application optimisation I don't think every app should fill a screen there should be a small space for black and white representing the two familias in the world. I was one of those who used youtube always in widescreen but recently I enjoy just a bit of a background. Let's just say when you mix the two you can truly equality in the world.

I don't want to hate on the iPhone Duo, as I expected these issues from a first-generation device. We all remember the criticism Samsung faced with their first foldable; while it was a different time, the initial experience certainly wasn't pleasant. However, Apple had eight years to develop this technology, and as reviewers like Mrwhosetheboss and MKBHD have pointed out, they should have done better.

The compromises are significant: a slow, laggy fingerprint sensor, downgraded cameras, and the lack of Face ID—especially when competitors offer multiple unlock methods. Most shocking, after hearing so much criticism of the Galaxy Z Fold 8, is the poor app optimization on the front screen. Having apps shift to the side to accommodate status icons makes no sense and looks horrible. I look forward to seeing how "iSheep" justify these design choices, as I appreciate honest feedback from real users rather than blind brand loyalty. I'll reserve final judgment as more reviews roll in, but for now, it's clear there is plenty of room for improvement.

I also have to point out that Apple is already getting the usual "PASSES" from fanboys (aka. #ISheep) that dont even have the device as of yet, but are already covering for them.

That was 8 years ago Samsung first gen. 8 years ago using technology of manufacturing and material sciences available 8 years ago . Jeeez. In the past two years Oppo and others made amazing devices that rival or surpass Samsung's last two generations of fold phone. Btw the way the fold 7 and fold 8 are amazing devices .

I agree completely. While Samsung faced significant criticism for their first-generation foldable, that was eight years ago, and expectations for Apple should be much higher given their development time. I own both the Z Fold 8 and 8 Ultra—I prefer the Ultra (and not sure why I find myself using it way more often) when open and the standard 8 when closed—and it’s clear Samsung has made massive strides since the Fold 7. Other companies like Oppo are also producing incredible hardware with nearly invisible creases and no gimmicks. It’s unfortunate those aren't more widely available, as healthy competition is exactly what drives manufacturers to push true innovation.

Compare to the Samsung foldables, this Duo is flawless, that's something I can assure you. Just ask nunob512 about the Fold 8—it's pure garbage. Not a single app is optimized except the Samsung apps (we tested it out on a video call, by the way). As per the screen, @MKBHD said it's a lot, and I mean a lot, better. Also, the battery life on the Z Fold 8 is garbage according to the battery test done by @Mrwhosetheboss. I mean, I know PA wants clicks, but this is on a different level.

PS: NunoB512 is here as usual, trash-talking without having hands-on experience. Just the other post he talked about an iPad, and he does not own one. How can you see an issue on a device you don't own?

If anyone actually listened to PhoneArena, no one would ever buy a foldable device or upgrade their phone at all.

No, I know it’s not because you didn’t call me that Sunday when I was out on a ride. You trash-talked about the issue with the 18 Pro Max and AT&T, and we didn’t go over the apps on the Fold 8 one by one—and they didn’t have big black bars. No, it’s not true, this is normal. You talk about hiding facts, there you go buddy. No, you didn’t also tell me you like the Ultra a lot better. No, you didn't; I'm making it all up. This is why you will never be credible ever, and just like others here, you talk about what you don't own. Since when do you own an iPad? You don't, but according to you, you need an app issue, lol. Isn't that funny?

If you're going to keep spreading misinformation, I’m happy to bring Mike into this conversation to set the record straight. He was there on that ride with on Sunday, so we can settle this with one phone call.

Stop making stuff up, I told you that black bars did NOT matter to me, and that most apps looked good to me, then you went on hating on instagram I believe, but now that I saw that front screen of the Duo, the Fold 8 is miles ahead, and apps look much better. Please do NOT put words on my mouth, you keep on doing it to prove your points, use FACTS....
