Would you choose to have S Pen support for the Galaxy Z Fold 9 if it resulted in a thicker phone?

No S pen, no Samsung Fold. The 8 is a no go. The moto razr fold is looking more like an option to upgrade from my Fold 5.

Razr Fold has active stylus support on both inner and outer screens and a 6,000mAh battery, while being just 0.4mm thicker than the Fold 8 Ultra.

Oppo Find N6 also supports active input on both screens and a 6,000mAh battery while being just 0.1mm thicker than the Fold 8 Ultra, and it has less of a crease.

Magic V6 has active input on both screens and a whopping 6,600mAh battery while being the same thickness as the Fold 8 Ultra.

Samsung didn't need to cut the S Pen for thinness. They're just cutting cost and increasing margins. Stop parroting their excuses without criticism.

It doesn't need to be thicker, though.
