Discussion - Motorola Razr Fold Review

Vic, I'm not going to say your battery tests are any more reliable or un-reliable vs. others, but there is no way the Razr has similar battery life to the Z7 Fold. People have consistently said it is a two-day battery phone.

Absolutely, the battery test results are exactly why publishing this review took longer than usual. Motorola phones for some reason drain much quicker on our web browsing test. We have tried to dive deeper to find out exactly why, but I can confirm that we’ve double checked our results and that just… seems to be the case. We are actively looking for an explanation, but it will take a while. Meanwhile, this could also be some issue with this specific workload on Motorola phones too. I will post an update once we get to the bottom of this, but it might take a few weeks rather than days.

Am I the only one irritated that they don't include the 80W charger in the box? Curses on Apple for this bullshizz. Bring back the fast charging bricks with the device. Also, 512gb is just not nearly enough for me. I would vastly prefer a microSD slot. Moto, you could differentiate and steal many a customer with that feature alone. That said, a great device, far far superior to the Samsung effort.

Then there is an issue with your battery tests. Period.

This phone has damn near double the battery life of the z fold 7 I own both. Damn near double.

I consistently get 1.5 to 2 days out of the fold and the Z fold sometimes didn't get me through a day.

Your test is faulty as s**t. Also why I. Your review did you say this was the only other book foldable you can buy in the U.S???? The pixel 9 pro fold and 10 pro fold exist...

Got mine yesterday. Superb! (I have also owned the Galaxy Fold 4 & 5, that both failed after a year, despite being good for their time.)

Way thinner than you can imagine. I mean, when shut, it was about 0.5mm thicker than the Galaxy S25 Ultra that the RAZR replaced.

Very good ergonomics. Narrow enough to 'login' with your right thumb or your index finger, so make sure you register both. My ONLY criticism, that I knew of going in, that the Oppo Find N6 fixes, is there is nowhere to dock or charge the stylus, you need to keep it in the charging pod. I wish Samsung, Moto etc would make their foldables a little thicker and large enough slot the pen into the spine, this would make so much sense! I just hope the iPhone Fold supports Apple Pencil and has a slot for a smaller Apple Pencil, so I can run Shapr3D on it. If so, I'll sell the RAZR.

Anyway, I'm very fussy, and the Moto RAZR Fold comes highly recommended. I have found no issues at all. Oh, and if you have a Tesla, it wirelessly charges well too!
