"I think Samsung should radically change its Android tablet strategy or throw in the towel"

It’s crazy that Samsung still believes they can compete directly with the iPad despite their lack of meaningful innovation. Just saying.

An iPad is not an option for me as it would also require a to switch to an Iphone. A $3000 investment when my S2x Ultras and Tab S1x have always performed flawlessly. There is nothing an IPad can do that a Tab S12 can't do just as well. We can argue benchmarks all day but they have no real bearing on real world performance for 99% of people (percentage is used representativly and not an abosolute). There is no other Android tablet sold in the US that can match the Samsung tablets. I agree the Tab S12 Ultra for most people is kind of massive size overkill and given if doesn't have a direct competitor size wise, is a bit of an expensive outlier. I would prefer that Samsung focus on improving the S1x plus and increase is size another 1/2 jnch. It processing it already more than acceptable in my opinion.

Here you go with your stupid Samsung hate again.

Serious question, the iPad is only a high seller, because for those locked in to Apple's cage, don't have any choice but to buy another Apple product.

The Tab has ben arguably better since the very 1st model.

Tablets are meant to fill a gap between a phone and PC. It isn't meant to be a PC.

The iPad isn't better, it is basically th same thing every year with the same minor bumps. The SoC is just fast, but the tablet isn't doing anythign special. The Tab is way better including the fact it has a full desktop mode.

What exactly does the iPad offer that is better other than the SoC, which isn't all that great. How lame is it to use a desktop oriented SoC, but the iPad still has a blown up version of iPhone OS?

Samsung is the top seller of Android tablets. They don't need to do the stupid things others do. You don't need some stupid speaker on the back or any of those other lame duck things a tablet doesn't need.

Again you always appear when something negative is being said about Samsung. Why not when its Apple.

Since day one, regardless of you lame poor opinion, Samsung products overall run circles around what Apple products do.

So PA posted a article saying....I think Samsung should radically change its Android tablet strategy or throw in the towel.

I am simply pointing out the reality of the situation, just as this editorial has. If you look at the specifications, the Tab S12 Ultra is essentially a rebranded Tab S11 Ultra with minimal changes. This isn't "hating"—it is an objective observation of the product's stagnation. Rather than attacking me for noting these trends, you should direct your defense toward the points raised in the article itself, which clearly argues that Samsung’s current strategy is failing to offer meaningful innovation.

Stop being ignorant.

So Samsung needs to change their strategy, but Apple doesn't? Over the past 5 years other than changing the SoC, what has Apple does with the iPad and iPad OS? Nothing other than rip features that were already on Android for decades already.

What more do you want a tavlet to do? It is just a larger screen phone or the most part. It does everything your phone does, just woth a bigger screen. It's not meant to be a PC.

However, the Tab is far and away more capable than the iPad. Samsung is the largest tablet seller on this side which says alot as Apple has zero competition on iOS and they change nothing more than anyone else does.

We don't need some duffle bag sound ugly speaker on the back liek the lenovo.

I still have my Tab S9 Ultra and it for me has almost replaced my Windows laptop. I keep a Windows machine for gaming and compatibility, both of which are terrible on IOS or Mac OS.

It is so funny how much you all hate Samsung, and that is not an overstatement either. I am curious how the iPad is any better? What has Apple does that is so special with it? Using a desktop class SoC and yet do desktop-like capabilities.

We don't need stupid hardware tricks. We need software substance.

You always saying Samsung needs to do this or that, but you never say what exactly you want. You know why? Because you lack any technical knowledge to really say what it needs, because the form factor as will phones, limits what these devices can do.

All tablets regardless of brand or platform, are just phones with a bigger screen allowing you to simply have better multitasking. It wasn't meant to have better cameras. Who is gonna be taking pics all the time with a 14" screen in front of their face?

If you want a better "tablet", get a Surface. Problem solved. Anything that doesn't run a desktop OS is basically a toy, whether it is a phone or tablet.

Why would switching to an iPhone or even getting one be a requirement of having an iPad? My parents got my son (a month away from being 2 at the time, so basically it was mine) an iPad Mini for Christmas 2021. I didn't get my 14 Pro Max until 9+ months later & the reason had nothing to do with having the Mini.
