Discussion - Galaxy S27 Ultra's rumored camera bar isn't the iPhone clone everyone called it

I believe magnets are overrated. Tried a few things but none felt practical to me.

I'm evidently the odd one out, since a lot of people find them useful.

Looks more like a OnePlus 15 clone.

Look again at the OnePlus 15; its camera island ends right after the lenses. This design is more like the iPhone 17 Pro, where the camera island covers the entire top section. Even if the cameras and sensors are on the same side, the outline spans the width of the device.

What is Samsung going to copy next camera island?

Saying that the design change has nothing to do with Apple, while in the next breath saying that it has to do with the Qi2 magnets is hysterical. As if the Qi2 magnets are not a direct descendant of Apple’s MagSafe. It still has EVERYTHING to do with Apple’s influence, even if it’s not just to copy the look.

A good case would hide this abomination.

No, you aren't. I love that my 25 Ultra chose lightness and thinness over a feature I'll never use. And serves no real purpose. Wired charging is so much faster and more reliable. And for all this article claims everyone uses this and cares about it, I know of one person in my bubble of life with any phone who I see charging their phone wirelessly. Pretty sure it's not even Qi2. Does anybody really give a care? Or is it just being mad and petulant that Samsung hasn't kept up with the Jones? Which is how the tone of most complaints about it come off. I don't know how to feel about the look. But to be honest, as long as it isn't Apple's triangle of lenses, Samsung probably remains my choice. We'll see if 2027 is the year of the next upgrade or not.
