So when AI starts to take over and we need to kill the internet in order to survive, we will rue the day they removed all of the copper wire. Unfortunately, this website will not still be around for you to give me the Thumbs up when this comes to pass.... but you will remember.

Haha you heard it here first.

I think they've made a couple of movies about this. 😂

In Pennsylvania we list our landlines in June, the wife wanted to keep the number, so I said just have it ported to her phone. She bought an android tablet just for that purpose, verizon refused to port the number, but they DID port the number for the business down the street. Bas"#rds, I'm so glad to be done with them, they are so arrogant.

I had for a while Verizon s 5g fixed wireless internet and used it for my home phone with Callcentric. Beats any copper line. Yes, it won't work if you don't have power but there are cellphones for emergency. No money for a smart phone? Get a cheap flip phone and a pay by minute plan from Page plus.

And if your copper lines are not underground the service is not 100% reliable either.

There are lot of good reasons to complain to FCC but this is not one of them.

People have to move to the 21 st century.

Seventeen years ago on June 12, 2009, the analog TV signal was shut off. A lot of people complained that we wouldn't be able to get important updates in the event of an emergency, but after a few weeks, we all learned to get by. I'm pretty sure we can get through this, too.
