Discussion - Big shocker: OnePlus 16 may not launch in any international market

They are probably going to shutter Oneplus brand and roll it into the Oppo brand so they can charge $200-300 more per phone for the same phone.

OnePlus is basically just another Floppo brand. Change my mind, oh wait you can't because I am always right.

I would argue that the OnePlus 12 was the one to do this with 5,400 mAh. That was the first flagship for OnePlus to go beyond the 5,000 that so many others cling to. Then the OnePlus 13 had 6,000. (Meanwhile Samsung still uses 5,000 for their flagship...)

The 15 is just a continuation of what the 12 started.

One Plus was done a couple years ago. BBK electronics, which owns Oppo, wanted to really break out of the Asian market. Someone came up with the idea to create a "startup". Good phone, good price and launch it online. Slick website, user groups and then say because we are just a poor startup, you have to have an invite to buy one. That created a crazy online following. People were selling their kids to get one LOL. The OnePlus One looked almost exactly like the Oppo Find 7, save for a couple missing features. Oh! Then it was found out that because they were a poor startup, Oppo was manufacturing the phones for OnePlus. Oh! Then it was found out that OnePlus was also owned by BBK electronics. But by then the phone took off. Slowly they started increasing the price and now instead of a flagship killer, it's more of a flagship price. Now, most have heard of Oppo, BBK electronics so why spend the money producing pretty much two products when you can kill off junior and just produce the flagship?

Typing on my 12. It's still great hardware but the software quality and bugs are pretty terrible.
