Pretty sure Tim Cook said Android had 47 times more malware but oke. I do think to a certain point they aren't wrong but it'd be a whole lot easier to swallow if they weren't as stingy when it comes to allowing devs to add their apps to the app store and if they weren't in the business of making life extra rough for all and any competitors in the app store. At the end of the day I feel rather strongly that it is an excuse to make their own lives easier when it comes to pressuring developers for their money and pushing them out of the limelight in favor for their own apps.

Who cares if Apple supports side loaading or not. Apples iOS overall is still very locked down, limiting, and too restrictive. Even when Apple didn't want to support cloud game streaming platforms. Its only recently that Apples Safari browser will now support Googles Stadia, and Nvidia's GeForce now, and a few other cloud game streaming web apps. Its only since iOS 14.3 and above that Apple only added in enough web app support to be able to run those types of web apps. Plus only Apples Safari browser is able to run those types of web apps right now, because Apple still doesn't allow Googles Chrome, Microsoft's Edge, Firefox, or any other browser to run those types of web apps. That's some evil dictatorship crap from Apple. . For crying out loud these web apps only consist of HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, and some graphic images. Apples control over web apps is still ridiculous, and should have been fully supported back in 2014, especially when the HTML5 specs were finalized back in 2014. This should tell everyone how Apple is truly scared of web apps, because Apple can't control web apps, and has no say on any web apps, because web apps originate from the web site that created those web apps. Apple is really evil.

Nobody that uses an iPhone wants a third party App Store, heck most android users don’t use anything but the Google Play Store. Third party stores only appeal to the fringe android users that are mentally ill, like sgodsell and altron.

Why don't they let their users decide how much risk they want to take?

Just using IOS leaves you open to security issues, give users the choice. What Apple is afraid of is nothing but how much store revenue they would loose.

This is like saying the general population get STD's 15 (or was it 47?) times more often than Catholic Nuns and Priests. Well yeah, it's because normal people have no restrictions on the use of their, ahem, "equipment". : If you choose to sideload just know the risks.

Ahhh. A lot of people think that Apple is not giving users choice and continue their hate randomly. Apple “DOES” give users the choice. The “CHOICE” is to move away to Android. A lot of my friends and family have moved into the Android ecosystem and are very happy. So haters who keep yelling that there is no choice are just lying .

For those heavily invested in the ecosystem, which is millions of users are, moving to Android is not a practical option. So although technically there maybe a choice in practice for many there is not.

My own family was heavily invested into the ecosystem. But as I mentioned, they shifted to Pixel and they love it. They were even able to sell their old Apple products for a great price. I am super jealous of their phones but am too lazy to shift. In summary it could be a slight pain shifting but not difficult by any means.
