Discussion - Apple just locked in September 9 for its next event, and one iPhone is stealing the show

I've been enjoying the Fold 8 so far. My only gripe is my finger keeps getting in the way when taking pics but other than that it's been good.

I'm ready for something new from Apple and can't wait to see get their Foldable. I had someone tell me yesterday that their buddy got a chance to see and play with the iFold and he said it felt like the Fold 8 and there was no crease at all. Not sure if this is true or not but I guess we'll see soon enough...

Huawei, Samsung, Google and others have had folding phones for years, but, because this is (all hail apple, all hail apple) it is like it is the first folding phone that will hit the market. 🤣

But you know, people will tend to believe that Apple's take on the folding phone has "no crease" regardless whether a competitor like Oppo has better a flatter, "no crease" display. Based on the leaked renders, the iPhone Ultra is a direct copy of the Pixel Pro Fold lineup when it comes to the design. It is what it is.

We'll find out soon. I hope when it's open it's ipadOs and not IOS. As it's the first generation, I am sure apple will hold things back to have upgrade options next year.

Well Apple is a a big footprint in the overall market, and it’s the biggest footprint by a huge margin in the flagship market. So it makes sense that most eyes are on Apples devices.

I think foldables are garbage: plastic screens, creases, dirt in the crease among many drawbacks with no real positive other than bragging rights.

Many rush to the market because they’re competing for sales - Apple just has its own world, it’s own customer base, and can do this late and still be on top. Physical attributes be dammed - myself just like most others, but Apple devices for their software design and functionality. I prefer minimalism rather than “everything at my face, right now, and all of it” - because most of the new ideas these days are just junk.

so yes, when Apple does something all eyes are gonna be there and reporters know that so the glazing on their articles is just nature of the beast.

personally I believe that last decade is just all just the part of in-s**t-ification of every consumer products we buy - Apple not excluded. People are dropping interest in electronics, and bloggers have to push excitement for everyone to still be interested in reading about them.

foldables and AI are at this point a desperate attempt at keeping you buying - trust me.
