google just doesn't get it. they don't realize if you made a premium hardware phone they would gain market share. people dont mind paying for a premium device but when you keep making an upper middle tier phone and charging premium prices people dont buy it. perfect example they built a custom chip and have fallen so far behind on performance when you think they would improve. 7 cores?? why. should have stayed at 8 and used a better gpu. i have had the pixel 1 2 3 6 and 8 pro models.was looking forward to a big upgrade with a tsmc tensor chip and boy was i disappointed. took them forever to upgraded modem and camera lenses.

Other than benchmark types, these minor updates are just a waste of money for consumers. Most will never see the benefits of a faster processor or more ram anyway.

But, in America, the carriers offer you a "free" upgrade to keep you locked into their overpriced contract.

Just keep your phone 3-4 years. Heck, they offer many years of major updates & security patches.

it is a catastrophic error to put the pixel on the same level as a samsung S or iphone, pixel is more like a midrange honor

Stop pitting Pixel phones against iPhones and Galaxy devices. Until Google stops being lazy and sells Pixel phones worldwide like Apple and Samsung, they won't be in that league.

I doubt Samsung would put in a bigger main sensor. I feel we have plateued around 1/2.8 or 1/3" sensors for main cameras. Even Chinese companies may not launch ultra phones next year which generally have bigger sensors.

Telephoto could hit 1/1.95" and Pixel 11 pro series already have those.

Plus Google is not in the business of competiting with OEMs. they just want reference software experience. Not for gamers or those who want extreme performance. It will be a niche device limited to certain markets.
