What else is new ? Not just copying but Bug after bug after bug.

ANOTHER bug in a Google product, and now this? ------>"Is Google Maps secretly copying a Chinese project?"

Somebody check beedubya, he is not going to be ok once he sees this, especially the last part.

The two things I want them to copy from Amap are:

A) Stoplight countdowns. That is an awesome feature. If you know you're going to be at a light for 90 seconds, you can check your phone for 60 seconds of it. If you don't know, then it is hands off the phone. (I don't usually use my phone when driving at all, even at stoplights because I need to be ready when it changes) but in China, knowing you have plenty of time, it's ok to glance. (It's ok if people disagree with me)

B) they split the screen into two halves. The top half shows you the exact lane to be in from a 3rd person perspective from behind the car (great for on the highway) and the bottom shows the map. This only switches to this view when you get within 1km of your exit. (Maybe 750m, I can't remember). But that literally takes the guessing out of which lane to be in. (If you've ever driven in New Jersey, you understand haha)

It seems as though people are attempting to incorrectly use a navigation app as a restaurant reviewing app. They are not the same.

Yelp will tell you if it's good, operating hrs, reviews, etc. Google Maps will tell you how to get there. It seems simple enough to me, do your due diligence before you get into the car.

In my experience, Gemini sucks at almost everything fact related.
